Cookie Policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026.
This page covers what Xadaro stores on your device, what each thing is for, and how long it stays. That means cookies, and also local storage and session storage, which do the same job and which the law treats the same way.
Some of it is needed to sign you in, keep the app secure, and keep changes you have not saved yet, so that part runs whatever you choose. The rest is yours to decide: product analytics in your browser stays off until you switch it on, and the settings we remember are cleared as soon as you switch them off. You can change your mind at any point: is in the footer of every page.
One thing is not on your device, so the switches here cannot reach it: our servers count which features get used, whether or not you turn browser analytics on. That count stays in our own database and reaches nobody else. The Privacy Policy says what the count holds and how to tell us to stop.
Advertising and cross-site tracking
None. We run no advertising network and no cross-site profiling, so there is no advertising switch to offer. The only third-party analytics we use is Google Analytics, and only if you allow product analytics, with Google’s advertising features turned off. If you arrive from an ad of ours, that group also records the ad’s campaign tags and click ID, to measure which ads work, and nothing is used to show you ads. We do not sell your data or share it for anyone else’s marketing.
Strictly necessary
Always onWhat the app needs to sign you in, keep you signed in, keep changes you have not saved yet, and stay secure. These cannot be turned off, because without them the app cannot work at all.
- Keeps you signed in. Locked so that only our own servers can read it.Kept for: 12 hours, extended each time you use the app.
- Proves a form submission came from our own pages and not from another site acting as you.Kept for: 12 hours, extended each time you use the app.
- Ties a sign-in started with Google, Facebook, or LinkedIn to the browser that started it, so nobody else can finish it as you. Only written when you use one of those buttons.Kept for: 12 hours, or until that sign-in finishes.
- Remembers your choices about the groups listed here, so we do not ask again on every visit. Kept when you sign out, because it is this browser’s choice rather than your account’s.Kept for: until you change your choices or clear your browser storage.
- Remembers which realtime connection worked last time, so live updates reconnect quickly. Only written once you are signed in.Kept for: until you clear your browser storage. Provided by Pusher (realtime connection).
- Keeps changes you have typed but not saved yet, so leaving the page or reloading it does not lose them. Only written once you are signed in.Kept for: until you save, sign out in this tab, or close the tab, and never longer than 24 hours.
Preferences
Your choiceSmall notes about how you like the app set up. We only write these when you do the thing: pick a theme, dismiss a tip, rate one of your own practice answers. Switch this off and we clear them, so your theme goes back to your system setting and a tip you dismissed can come back.
- Remembers whether you chose light, dark, or your system setting.Kept for: until you clear your browser storage, or switch this group off.
- Remembers that you dismissed the first-run tip in CV Studio, so it stays gone.Kept for: until you clear your browser storage, or switch this group off.
- Holds the ratings you gave your own practice answers, for each application. Nothing new is added to these any more.Kept for: until you clear your browser storage, or switch this group off.
Product analytics
Your choiceCounts which features get used in your browser, so we know what to fix. That includes which pages get visited, which Google Analytics measures, along with any campaign tags or ad-click IDs in the link you arrived by. It also remembers which link or campaign brought you here. Off unless you turn it on, and never used to show you ads. Our servers count feature use separately, whether or not this is on: the Privacy Policy explains that count and how to object to it.
- A random id that groups the actions in one tab into a single visit. It says nothing about who you are, and it is discarded when you close the tab.Kept for: until you close the tab.
- Remembers the page you first arrived on, the site that sent you, and the campaign tags in that link, so we can tell which link led you to sign up. For an ad, that includes the search words it was shown for. It keeps nothing else from the link.Kept for: 30 days, or until you create an account or switch this group off.
- Gives your browser a random id so Google Analytics can tell a return visit from a new one when it counts page visits. We send Google no name, email address, or account id.Kept for: 2 years, or until you switch this group off. Provided by Google LLC (Google Analytics).
- Holds the state of your current visit for our Google Analytics property, so page views in one visit are counted together.Kept for: 2 years, or until you switch this group off. Provided by Google LLC (Google Analytics).
Turning things off in your browser
Your browser can block or delete all of this independently of the controls here. Blocking the strictly necessary items will sign you out and stop the app working, which is a limitation of what those items do rather than a choice we are making for you. Clearing site data also clears the record of your choices on this page, so you will be asked again on your next visit.
Questions
The Privacy Policy covers what we do with your data more broadly, including your rights over it. If you want the technical detail behind any item here, or anything this page does not answer, use the contact form.
